Follow the road to South Huron for a weekend of adventure that you won’t want to miss. The Ram Rodeo thunders back into Exeter August 5, 6 & 7, 2016.
2016 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Exeter Rodeo. The Committee is excited to announce that Amber Marshall, who stars as Amy Fleming on the CBC family drama Heartland, will be attending Saturdays’ performance and will be co-announcing in the rodeo arena.
Kick off to Rodeo weekend will begin on Friday night when access to the grounds from 6:30 – 8:30 pm is free for all ages sponsored by the South Huron Optimist Club. The western-themed event through Party Perfect will feature bouncy castle, slide/climber, face painting and cow patty toss for the kids. Beverage service will be available in the ag building during this event.
The Exeter Saddle Club will host Highway 21 on Friday night in the Ag Building. Age of Majority is required to attend. Cost is $10.00 at the door – 9 pm – 1 am.
Gates open at noon on Saturday with the show starting at 4 pm, featuring Amber Marshall. Limited seating is available so arrive early to avoid disappointment. The show goes rain or shine.
To kick off Saturdays events, join us at the tailgate party where Ty Baynton will entertain the crowd from 2:00 – 3:30 pm and again from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Food and beverage will be available.
Coming from Nashville, home town boy and country artist, Zach Neil, will be performing in the tent Saturday evening from 9:00 pm – 1 am. This family friendly event is free of charge.
For the youngsters, there will be a sheep scramble at intermission on Sunday, sponsored by the Exeter Lions Club. This is a great opportunity for youngsters to experience the cowboy way of life. Bring your camera to capture the moment and enjoy memories you will treasure forever.
Crabby Joe’s Exeter has generously sponsored a loonie search. This event will directly follow the show on Sunday only. Youngsters are encouraged to bring Mom and Dad over to the sand pit and cheer them on as they search through the pile of sand to find endless treasures.
Due to the large crowd expected at the Saturday performance, the sheep scramble and loonie search will be held on Sunday only.
Join the Exeter Legion Ladies as they serve breakfast from 8 – 11 am at the South Huron Recreation Centre Hall.
Gates will open at noon on Sunday for rodeo show at 2 pm.
